November 15, 2008 -- Induction:  James Perry, Mario Torrez, VerLinda  McMillan, Danny McMillan,  Bill Schmidt were inducted into the NC Barbell Hall of Fame.

September 22, 2008 – Announcement: NC Barbell Hall of Fame inductions will be held in conjunction with the IBP NC State Bench Press Championships to be held in Henderson, NC on November 15, 2008.

September 21, 2008 – The NC Barbell Hall of Fame induction committee met in Burlington to discuss possible candidates for future induction to the hall. It was decided that five individuals will be inducted in November of this year. The names of these new inductees will be made public in November.
